I was elected in 2004 and took office in 2005, but I have served as deputy clerk since 1993. I was born and raised in Echols County and love serving the citizens of Echols County as Superior Court Clerk. My children were raised here and graduated from Echols County High. Because we are such a small county, people here are like family and truly appreciate it when you help them.

I enjoy attending church. I am a member of Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church and am a member of the Board of Trustees there. It is very important to have Church family as well as family and community support to hold office effectively and I am blessed to have all three.

I have completed all my requirements for training every year since I took office, as well as taking classes to update on new legislature. I am certified in County Government and the Superior Court Clerk, Leadership Development, Financial Management, Case Management, Jury Management, Legal Research, Real and Personal Property , Fines, Fees and Forfeitures, Professionalism and Ethics in Public Service and Working with the Superior Court Clerks’ Associations, Councils, Boards and Authorities.

All our deeds, liens, UCCs and plats since 1993 have been transmitted to the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Authority website. The Clerks Authority has always furnished all our computers and scanners without any cost to the county. They do this as long as the county is up to date on all their filings. We have always had a one day turn around as far as our recordings are concerned. This year the Clerks’ Authority will start off site back-up of all our civil filings, criminal filings and real estate recordings.
